Champions League: Arsenal wins, United, Barca and Porto settles for draw - February 24,2009
A goal from the penalty spot taken by Van Persie was all the gunners needed to beat AC Roma of Italy. Van Persie was fouled by Philippe Mexes in the 37th minutes of play and was rewarded with penalty which he converted.
The Arsenal that played Roma was a better side to watch as they had better ball possessions and dominate play for the greater part of the game.
The second half kicked of with only nine of the eleven players Arsenal in the field with Gallas receiving treatment moment before the start of the second half; as usual Toure was the last to come out of the dressing room.

France, Liga leader Barca needed a second half header from Thierry Henry to escape what would have been a painful defeat in the hand delightful Lyon side. Juninho had earlier put the host ahead with a brilliant and well taken free kick which beat Victor Valdes in goal for Barcelona.
Madrid, FC Porto came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw. Atletico Madrid had gone ahead in the fourth minute through Maxi off a pass from Sergio Aguero but Lopez equalized for Porto in the 22nd minute.
An injury time strike by Forlan restored Atletico’s lead again Lopez was on target for Porto in the 75th minute to level the game and taking his goal tally to six.
