The 26-year-old Nigerian international striker scored three goals for La Liga side Almeria last season—two of them coming in a 2-2 draw at Espanyol on January 11. He also has a pair of international goals to his name and has played 15 matches for the Super Eagles since making his debut against Angola in 2003.
After playing his youth football at Enyinba FC in Aba, he played one season at Iwuayanwu Nationale before being spotted by Espanyol in 2000. He proceeded to play at Wisla Krakow and Bordeaux before joining Almeria in 2005.
Uche is famous for his goalscoring celebrations—something he hopes to practice more at Craven Cottage in 2009/2010.
