  The Eaglet is gradually gaining momentum and this momentum was express in the encounter with the Argentina under-17 team. The eaglet came from a goal down to beat the South American 2-1.

With the victory over the South Americans, the eaglet now top group A with 7 points and book a place in the round of 16.

In the round of 16 clash with New Zealand in Calabar, the Eaglet wasted no time as they began the onslaught in the 14^th minute through Edafeh. It was obvious that the new Zealanders were no match for golden eaglet who were in the pilot seat from the blast of whistle. Within fourteen minutes of getting the curtain raiser the Nigeria team increased the tally to three through Stanley Okoro in the 24^th minute and Edafeh scoring his second goal in the 28^th minute. the first half ended with golden Eaglet of Nigeria leading by 3-0.

 The second half saw the eaglet playing to entertain the crowed and confirm their superiority over the New Zealand team. Two quick goals from Sani in the 74^th and 79^th gave the golden eaglet a 5-0 lead and put the game beyond redemption for the New Zealand.

 With the five star performance, the Golden eaglet they will now meet korea republic in the quarter-final in calabar.
