Nations Cup opener: Angola 4-Mali 4 - January 10,2010

The opening match between host nation Angola and Mali ended in a dramatic and unbelievably believable draw.

the  Palancas Negras were leading their Malian counterpart by 4-0 when suddenly the drama begin to unfold in what many we long remember as the great come back. With eleven minutes left in the thrilling encounter and before a capacity filled stadium.

Mali pulled off a draw in what I called the miracle of 11 November Stadium. A goal from Seydou Keita, followed by Federic Kanoute and extratime from Keita and yabartare was all Mali needed to end the match in fascinating draw.  

The first half ended with Angola leading by 2-0 courtesy of flavio and a second have penalty coverted by giberto and manucho seems to have put the match beyond redemption, only for Malian to stage mother of all come back to level  at 4-4.
