Day2: Malawi humbled World Cup bound Algeria, while Ivory Coast settled for a draw. - January 11,2010

 

Shock and disbelieve continue to characterised the results coming from matches played so far in the on going Africa Cup of Nation in Angola.

In the opening match of day 2  of the tournament, les fennecs of Algeria one the six  Africa representative at the FIFA World Cup taking place in South Africa later this year were humbled and humiliated 3-0 by  outsider Malawi.

Prior to the match no one gave Malawians the chance, considering the show of strength by the rejuvenated Algeria side enroute to tournament. It was party time for the Malawi which recorded their first ever Nations Cup win.

On the other match of the day, another FIFA World Cup bound team Ivory Coast and  tournament favourite laboured to a scoreless draw with Burkina Faso. Didier Drogba lead elephant of Ivory Coast failed to maximise the many chances that came their way.
